Difficult and rebellious children

When children become rebellious, argumentative and oppositional, it can hurl the whole family into disharmony. Then, your job as a parent can become thankless and overwhelming, especially when job related stresses exist.
The good news: a few changes in the way you talk to your children can dramatically turn things around in just two weeks–less conflict and emotional upheavals, less power struggles, more harmony. You’ll actually begin to enjoy and, yes, like you children for the first time in a long time. Parenting becomes a joy, not a burden.
If you want my article that outlines these communication changes (which is much easier than any form of cmmunication you could be using now,) please reply to this post. I’ll send you one for free.

It has been a struggle for me raising my rebellious son who is now 15 for more or less whole his life. I’ve been educating myself, using help of physiologists. One thing I learned that asking works the best with him (does not mean he always does what he is asked about though). Please, send me the article – hope to learn from it.

as a dad of two girls, my youngest 16 and i just don’t get along. I think she is disrespectful and I know I am not perfect. She is a straight A student and well liked by all. I am very proud of her and I really want her to like me again and for us to get along. she and her mom are buddies, I am a pain to her.

  32. I’m with you! I’ll do everything I can to help you with this very common problem. I’m SO proud that you are taking steps to seek answers. Please send me a copy. I have a11 year old son who is rebellious and the constant talking back has become very frustrating to my husband and I. We have 2 other children and it affects them too.

  40. It’s on its way! Actually, I’m sending three articles.

  41. Shannon says:

My 14 year old is doing horrible in school. Will not turn in homework. Argues about everything (she told my mother she had to get the last word to prove her point). She also blames me for everything including that her father was angry with her when she had hickies on her neck. She said that if I didnt tell him there would be no problem. I need help. Im at the end of my rope.

  42. From what you say, I would bet my right arm that your daughter has some sort of learning difference, ADHD or even early depression. WIth any of these, kids typically act out, refuse to turn in their schoolwork, and demonstrate rebellious behavior at home. The first thing I would do is have the counselor schedule testing with the school diagnostician. This should be free. They can test for learning differences, psychological problems, auditory processing disorders and much more. :She might even be gifted and bored with the material she’s learning in class. While awaiting these results, I’d like you to read the articles I’m sending you. They will give you simple solutions and help you shift your perspective in a way that will help you, her and the entire family. Keep in touch and let me know how she does.
